Arriving at the beautiful Lotte Hotel, the first thing that caught our eye as we approached the resort was the sight of a massive, stunning property that reminded us of the luxurious resorts in the Middle East. The allure of the hotel was evident even from a distance. Once inside, we were greeted by the breathtaking sea view from the lobby. I’ve already shared the details of our smooth transfer to the hotel in my previous post.
Rooms: When we reached our room, we were relieved to find that it was ready for us. Although we didn’t have a sea view, the garden view room we had booked was equally beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness it offered. The room, though somewhat old-fashioned, had charming wicker furniture that gave it a tropical feel. However, I couldn’t help but wonder about the newly renovated rooms and the adorable Hello Kitty themed rooms they offered. It was tempting to book one of those, but since they fell under the “family room” category, we didn’t want to deprive a family of the opportunity to experience the cute and themed accommodations.
Pool: Without a doubt, the pool area was the highlight of this hotel for me. It was a paradise of relaxation! The pool was heated to around 30 degrees Celsius, providing a warm and comfortable swimming experience regardless of the weather. Surrounded by vibrant flowers, lush trees, and greenery, the pool area exuded serenity. I particularly enjoyed the jacuzzis, which offered even warmer water to unwind in. Additionally, the pool area featured a sauna, creating a perfect escape for relaxation. Although the pool wasn’t outdoor, the sauna’s presence was a welcome touch.
Entertainment: Entertainment at the hotel was centered around the pool, adding a unique touch to the experience. A stage was set up behind the pool, allowing guests to enjoy the shows while remaining in the water. To my surprise, the entertainment was top-notch! The singers were truly amazing, and their performances left a lasting impression. I can’t forget the two talented guys singing “Piano Man” in an opera version; it was a remarkable moment. All the singers, both Korean and English, delivered captivating performances, making it one of the highlights of our stay at Lotte Hotel.
Beach: As we explored the beach area, we discovered that swimming wasn’t allowed due to the strong currents. Signs indicated the presence of sharks, raising uncertainty about whether this was a factual reason or merely a tactic to discourage entry, possibly overshadowing the threat of strong currents. Despite these concerns, the beach offered breathtaking views. Situated on a cliff, our hotel provided a picturesque vantage point, allowing us to marvel at the stunning scenery below.
Dining: The hotel’s buffet restaurant was a culinary treat, featuring a variety of delicious dishes. From freshly made sushi to a range of Asian and European flavors, the restaurant had something for everyone. The buffet had a variety of delicious options, including abalone, scallops, and lobster tails, alongside other unique seafood dishes that showcased a rich diversity of flavors. Additionally, the famous black pork and a selection of shrimp dishes were available, offering a wide range of choices. In my view, the abalone was somewhat firmer than expected, leading to a bit of disappointment based on its reputation. However, every other aspect of the culinary experience exceeded my expectations, especially the perfectly cooked lobster tails. Despite the slightly higher price, the experience proved worth every penny. To enhance our meal, we treated ourselves to the reasonably priced wine tasting menu, creating a truly memorable dining experience.
Other facilities: The hotel’s bar, while beautifully designed, was too expensive for our budget. We chose not to get drinks at the bar and instead focused on enjoying the other amenities of the hotel. We were happy to find a variety of facilities available, including a casino, gym, and even a Louis Vuitton boutique, adding to the luxury experience
Location: Outside the hotel, the surrounding area had much to offer. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast place, Bamaro, that served amazing bagels, some of the best we’ve ever had.
A beautiful temple area nearby provided a serene escape, featuring a bridge over natural beauty and offering stunning views of waterfalls. Numerous restaurants awaited just outside the hotel, serving Korean, Japanese, and chicken dishes, providing us with plenty of dining options. The convenience of two seven-elevens nearby was an added bonus, making it easy to grab essentials as needed.
We also discovered a beautiful beach bar just a stone’s throw away from the hotel. With its mesmerizing music, inviting atmosphere, and captivating interior, the beach bar was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the spectacular sunsets with delicious cocktails. Although it wasn’t bustling at night during this off-season period, it was still a charming spot to spend time with loved ones. Other beach bars around were temporarily closed due to the off-season, but we could only imagine how vibrant the area would become during peak times.
With other hotels nearby and numerous attractions within walking distance, we found plenty to explore even without a car. Our two days at Lotte Hotel were packed with adventure and relaxation, making it a memorable experience for us.
In conclusion, our stay at the Lotte Hotel in Jeju was truly enchanting. From the captivating gardens and spacious rooms to the fabulous pool area and top-notch entertainment, it was an experience that surpassed our expectations. The outstanding buffet, beautiful beach views, and the many facilities on offer made our stay even more remarkable. The nearby places also offered lots of delicious food options.
